Trigger Point Therapy is used to treat chronic headaches,
muscle tension, and fibromyalgia.

Trigger Point
Therapy

Trigger points are areas in muscle fibers that become short, tight and uncomfortable. If you have a knot or tight area that keeps coming back, it’s probably a trigger point.  Trigger points are often a result of trauma, injury or overuse.  Left untreated these trigger points can cause serious problems with pain and movement and posture.   Trigger point therapy is also used treat chronic headaches, muscle tension, and fibromyalgia.

The various types of Trigger Point Therapies offered
at Choice Restorative Medicine include:

TPI

In this procedure, a small needle containing an anesthetic or corticosteroid is inserted into the patient’s trigger point area. This allows us to make the trigger point inactive, thereby immediately eliminating pain. Typical treatments take only a few minutes.

The Graston

At Choice Restorative Medicine, our laser uses a light that is designed to stimulate your body to heal itself faster. It boosts the cellular function and improves circulation to the area which promotes faster healing. With trigger points, the laser can help break up the scar tissue and improve the muscle function

Botox® for
Headaches &
Migraines

Often patients with cervical spine subluxations have higher instances of trigger points located at the base of their skull.

Botox works by blocking the nerves that send pain messages to the brain.

Botox injections, the only FDA-approved treatment for headaches and migraines, can actually prevent a headache or migraine before they start.

A typical treatment is given over two sessions and last approximately 12 weeks.
